As a resident of New South Wales, you may have heard about the Media Release from New South Wales Health issued on 16th December 2021 in relation to the extension of the vaccination directions.

Please note that under the State of Emergency which enacts the Biosecurity Act, there must be specific Orders/Directions issued by the Chief Health Officer outlining what is required of the public specifically.

As you can see in the second link, the Vaccination of Health Care Workers in New South Wales has not been updated since 22 October 2021. Therefore, at this time there have been no changes to the current Direction of who is required to be vaccinated.

The Directions are important as it clearly outlines what the specifics of the Directions are, how they apply and who it applies to. Currently, a media release has no enforcement powers, nor does it provide the specific details we would need to update members.

It is expected that this will be updated at some point, and members need to take the time to read through the Direction to know how it may, or may not, apply to them. As you are aware, this is the last working day for the ANTA office until 10 January 2022. We will not be working to provide updates but we will get information to you on any changes upon our return.
